In the St. Petersburg Times, Howard Troxler’s column exposed the obscene waste of our tax dollars by Pinellas county and the local cities as they battle eachother over a local referendum. I received such an ad today from the “Pinellas Cities for Home Rule Committee”. It was paid for “in Kind” by, of all people, the CITY OF ST. PETERSBURG! (That means they city printers printed and mailed it).  So not only are they jacking up St. Petersrburg's taxes by a rate 4x greater than inflation, they are directly spending OUR money on the ad.  Now when many of you contributed to Cut Taxes Now, you all knew what political agenda you were supporting.  When the City raised taxes to force a political contribution from you, did they ask your opinion first?  OUTRAGEOUS!   

 

This is one of the many reasons that the tax record of local officials must be exposed!
