Every Member of the City Coucil has either voted yes or been absent for increased Tax Collections every year since 2000
until this year. This year (9/14/06), three members of the city council voted no, advocating for an even lower millage
rate for 2007. Council Member Ernest Williams voted "no" after stating that he was worried about the effect on renters.
Councilman Bryan also expressed concerns about the impact of higher tax collections on citizens (the possibility that people
may be forced from their homes), and voted no.
In Summary, the three City council Members who voted against the Millage Rate in St. Pete that has allowed the highest
tax collection in city history were:
Call each and thank them for voting NO. Ask them to vote for the ROLLBACK RATE next year which will freeze property
tax collections at previous levels.
